Elements Necessary in your Ecosystem:
- 45mm EPDM liner placed over underlayment
- Boulders, cobblestones, pebbles
- Aquatic plants in the pond and landscape plants near the water feature
- Fish (when water depth is 26” or more)
- Underwater light
- Beneficial bacteria to help naturally balance the pond
Professional Installation:
- Detailed hand excavation to ensure proper wall slope
- Hand installed underlayment & 45mm EPDM liner. (This helps ensure there will be no frost heaving or cracking that happens with prefabricated plastic liners)
- Individual placement of boulders, cobbles & pebbles to ensure all of the liner is covered
- Adds to the aesthetics of the water feature
- Helps beneficial bacteria colonize
- Protects the liner from UV rays
- Aquatic plants are installed at various depths in the water. This provides an essential part of the ecosystem as well as greenery and blooming flowers
- Landscape plants are installed adjacent to the water feature for yet another dimension for the ecosystem
- Landscape plants add different colors and textures to the water feature
- This also ties the water feature in to the existing landscape
